State of Accountability

 Dear Mr. President,

My name is Heresey Mae Ricablanca, I’m 15 years old and I live in Barangay Busiing Norte, San Ildefonso, Ilocos Sur, Philippines. I am currently studying at Ilocos Sur National High School, I’m a Grade 10 student and I am from the Special Mathematics Class. I declare that every word this letter contains is pure, authentic, and genuine. I am just a student, I will solely shoulder any unclear and sensitive phrases. Once again, I am a proud citizen of the Philippines and the following sentences will verify how much I love my country, and how I can help in improving the economy.

The most concerning issue of all time, Poverty. Is it getting better? Or is it getting worse? I actually believe when I was still a child, that poverty comes from those who are irresponsible. Those who are not willing to make a chance to improve. I actually thought that poverty had no cure. That it had no other solutions, rather than expecting some cues on the government. But now I know that I was wrong. Poverty will be eliminated if we had just one goal, and that would be unity. To act as one, To be as one, and to help each other. Mr. President, I respect your campaigns. I respect your projects, I respect those new set of rules, and I respect your own view in making the country better. But I would like to add some suggestions on how poverty can easily be executed. First thing that we should implement is equality. We should learn how to treat others the way we want to be treated. We should help one another to be able to proclaim equality, and that no one will be left behind. In equality, there is unity. And where in there’s unity, there is strength. I would like to suggest that the government should proclaim laws regarding on how Filipinos would act as one, whenever there is in need. Mr. President, I believe that we have our own perspectives in improving. I believe that we can all widen our gazes, to focus more on what’s worth the effort. I know for sure that with your order, people would be enlightened and would start to make a change.

We are all grateful to have a leader. For having someone to lead unity and to claim peace. Please be good with us. Seeking solution from various issues, like poverty, is a big task to handle. I would idolize you for the rest of my life if you will serve not only as the president, but also as a father to the Philippines, just like you are to your own sons. I can say that we are in great hands if you continue your number one goal, UNITY.

Yours Faithfully,

Heresey Mae
